Put Your Hope in God!

Hope is essential for all of us. Imagine life without hope, it would be tragic. In one way or another one has to cling to a certain hope. Some put their hope in fame, money, power, family, a loved one and so on. Yet in truth to hope in these things is rather hopeless because sooner or later these things will come to an end. Before I share what we did during the Family Devotionals, allow me to share a little background. The week before we did this devotional, my husband and I went into prayer and fasting for one week. We fasted on social media and our breakfast. We had a prayer and fasting list for us to specifically pray for. One of the prayer items there was for our family to experience God as a family. God did move and made this family devotional so real to us and more so to the kids. Allow me to share what I posted on my Facebook page – Christian Mom 101

God is Love Part 2

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall perish but have eternal life.”

  1. Two sets of gifts per child
  2. A list of things to do for the kids

For this Family Devotionals, this will require a little more effort and money. We prepared beforehand two sets of gifts for each child. The gift should not be necessarily expensive but something that they would really want to have and they would do anything to have it. The trick here is to beautifully wrap it to make it even look more special. Continue reading

Thus, the greatest demonstration of God’s love is when He sacrificed His only Son, Jesus Christ so that you and I will be saved from eternal damnation. Continue reading

Passion Week for Kids

Passion Week is not just the best time to take a vacation and relax from our mundane activities. It is also the best time to reflect, remember and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ about what He has done for us on the cross and His Resurrection.

It is also the best time to teach our kids what this week is all about. It is the best time to share the Gospel to them. The best time to plant the seeds in their hearts of what the Savior had to go through so that you and I would be saved and freed from our sin. Continue reading

God is Holy (Part 1)

We started the year with a new series for our family devotionals – The Attributes of God. This series will give our kids the opportunity to know who our God is.

The Attributes of God is essential to our faith. It is the foundation of our faith. It is then important to intentionally teach this to our kids because this will answer the questions; who God is and why we should believe and trust God.

God’s Holiness is the first attribute we shared to them. Read more to know why we first discussed the holiness of God.

Key verse: Revelation 4:8 “…Holy, holy, holy, Lord God the Almighty, who was, who is and who is coming.” Continue reading
